Put your hands together and welcome Tim and Shelley to Decatur! They just closed on this updated, cozy townhome within a short walk to all the City of Decatur restaurants. I had a fun time getting to help out this couple. It all started with a meeting back in January when they took a trip from their current (or should I now say past?) home of Chicago to check out the Atlanta area. Tim will be working for Emory starting this summer so they did the best possible steps an out-of-town buyer could do: 1) Visit Atlanta and check out the neighborhoods 2) Monitor the market using the MLS search tool I set up 3) Make an offer after viewing pictures/watching videos I made of the properties 4) Make another trip into town during the due-diligence period and ensure they liked the home. In a nutshell – this is exactly what they did. Of course, it can be nerve-wracking to make an offer without actually stepping foot inside the home…but I think after having met Tim & Shelley and figuring out their needs/wants, I was able to help them pin-point the best housing options to call “home.” It was a lot of fun house shopping for them. 🙂
This particular townhome in Decatur was one I just couldn’t get out of my head. It was a perfect starter home, well-kept and updated, had the cutest back patio area, included a covered parking spot, and the location was unbeatable for the price — within walking distance to Downtown Decatur AND it was also going to be a great location as an Emory employee. Tim & Shelley asked all the right questions when shopping for a house and also kept a very level head when this home went into multiple offers numerous times (I’ll spare the details of how this home kept coming on and off the market…let’s just say it was crazy, but everything worked out in the end).
I’m overjoyed that Tim & Shelley were able to secure this townhome in Decatur!! Enjoy the new home and welcome to Atlanta!
