Please welcome Nick & Virginia and their two little kiddos to Atlanta!! They will be moving to Atlanta from Austin to be at Emory and just got keys to their new ranch home located in Lavista Acres (in the North Decatur area). When I got connected with them, they told me that one of their top priorities was to be in an area that was as close to Emory as possible (to maximize the time Nick would have with his family during an intense work schedule at Emory). I felt that somehow I was supposed to be connected with this couple as Virginia’s parents, who were also involved with the home search, were from Houston, which is where I had lived for almost 8 years. Plus, my own husband is affiliated with Emory, so I can completely understand the need to be living close to work. I could tell that Nick and Virginia had been studying up on the Atlanta market as they saw how quickly homes were selling and were ready to move on a house quickly. In fact, once I started to talk with them, I learned that they would need to buy a home without having really been to Atlanta nor seeing the home in person! We quickly became FaceTime buddies as I toured homes via FaceTime and would provide them feedback of what I saw in person. After losing out on one home in a multiple offer situation (and when I say multiple, I mean 7 offers on 1 house…the market is crazy ya’ll!) and viewing a few more that just weren’t quite as move-in ready as we preferred, we soon saw this ranch home listing that had an ideal location for Nick’s work.
Once we got under contract, within a few days Virginia and her dad (Rick) jumped on a plane to finally see the house in person and be present for the inspection. The home is a lovely 2 bed/2 bath house (with an option for a 3rd bedroom which is nice) and also has an extra den room off of the kitchen to let the kids play in. The backyard is nice and private and includes a deck, storage shed, and a hot tub. I am so happy to have met this entire family and just want to give them all a big hug as they move to Atlanta. Congrats on the house Nick, Virginia, Evelyn, Nicolas, Rick, and Diana!!
