Where To Find Ranch Homes With Big Lots in Atlanta

If you are on the hunt for ranch homes with large lots in Atlanta, you might want to think about Sagamore Hills.  There are a lot of wonderful in-town neighborhoods filled with ranch homes, but what I like about the Sagamore Hills area are 3 particular things:

Serene Location:

I’m a big fan of living ITP but let’s face it, you either pay a LOT to live ITP and/or you are squeezed tightly up against your neighbors. In Sagamore Hills, I feel like you get the best of all worlds.

  1. Sagamore Hills is located in-town, just south of I-85 and roughly borders Clairmont Rd, Lavista Rd, Oak Grove Rd, and Briarcliff Rd.  This is a perfect location to easily hop onto I-85 and it’s also about a 15-20 minute drive to Downtown Decatur, Buckhead, and Midtown.
  2. Many of the lots are large (measuring near or more than 1 acre).  Having these large lots understandably makes you have more privacy and distance from your next door neighbor.
  3. While there are not a lot of sidewalks in Sagamore Hills, the roads are fairly wide and there isn’t a ton of traffic cutting through the neighborhood.  Kids riding their bikes and parents pushing strollers are prevalent in the area.

Lots of Tall Trees!

What I always notice when driving through Sagamore Hills is the tall, mature trees.  The trees really give a sense of privacy and honestly you would never know that you are located next to some busy major streets and less than 1/4 mile from a major interstate.

More Affordable In-Town Home Options:

While Sagamore Hills isn’t exactly cheap – you get a lot of bang for your buck when you consider the lot size, the size of home, and a relatively close in-town living location.  The average sales price in Sagamore Hills within the last half of 2017 has been approximately $500K with the median sale value around $460K.  The majority of homes in Sagamore Hills will be renovated 1950’s ranch homes ranging from the low $300’s (for a fixer upper) up to the low $600’s for a more recently renovated home.  The overall neighborhood is a mix of older, established residents and younger professionals with kids.  (The Sagamore Elementary school is quite good as well!).
