If you are like me, there is nothing better than walking to a coffee shop for a cup of joe on a lazy weekend (and perhaps indulge in a pastry or other goodie as well). Virginia Highland lacks such a place in the heart of the main shopping/restaurant area. The closest spot is San Francisco coffee, which is great, but sometimes I’m not willing to walk the extra distance (which isn’t that far in all reality). According to WhatNowAtlanta.com, Highland Bakery is set to open a sister coffee and bakery shop to replace the old Aurora Coffee shop (located next to Yogli Mogli). The potential name for the store is “Coffee and Pastry” and has tentative plans to open late summer/early fall.
I’ll be looking forward to seeing this open up. It will be another place for residents of Virginia Highland to get out and meet fellow neighbors! You can check out the full story here: http://www.whatnowatlanta.com/2014/07/08/highland-bakery-opening-new-virginia-highland-concept/
