Virginia Highland

With the walkability of this neighborhood, it’s no wonder that the Virginia-Highland real estate market is highly sought after. Nestled between Piedmont Park and Emory, you will encounter tudor-style, craftsman, and bungalow homes. Several boutique shops and restaurants are featured in the main intersection of Virginia Ave & Highland Ave. (restaurants include Murphy’s, La Tavola, the original Taco Mac, George’s, and Atkins Park to name a few). Residents enjoy taking leisurely walks up and down the friendly streets and perhaps stopping off at one of the pubs/restaurants for a drink or bite to eat. The Virginia-Highland neighborhood is also a quick walk to Piedmont Park, which is a major plus when big festivals are going on (you won’t have to worry about parking!). Plus, it is located next to the Beltline, so you can really have the best of all worlds! Another gravitating feature for families to the Virginia-Highland area is that it belongs to the highly ranked Springdale Elementary School. Residents of Virginia Highland also host an annual festival the first weekend of June, called Summerfest and have started a new tradition in May called Porch Fest (local bands playing on neighbor's porches throughout the day - it's tons of fun!). Prices seem to hold their value in this popular neighborhood but be prepared for high prices for smaller sized homes. Older condos with lots of charm (generally in the $300-$400K range) can also be found in this area along with a few newer townhome options (ranging anywhere from $600-$1MM).
