Piedmont Heights is a small, quiet community just south of I-85 and north of the popular Morningside neighborhood. Homes found in Piedmont Heights consist of ranch, bungalows and newer craftsman style homes. Residents can access the Beltline (off of Montgomery Ferry Rd) and are a short-ish stroll to Piedmont Park. Everyday conveniences are nearby with the Ansley Shopping Mall (Publix/Kroger) and also on the opposite side of the neighborhood is a Sprouts, Dunkin Donuts, and some great Tex-Mex at Little Rey's. The advantage of living in Piedmont Heights is that it is zoned to the same schools as Morningside but maybe not quite as steep of prices that you'd pay to live in Morningside. Homes start in the $750K range and can go up from there (you may be able to score one in the $600's that needs a little sweat equity). Perhaps the disadvantage is that Piedmont Heights may feel a little cut off from surrounding neighborhoods and either main exit out of the neighborhood is very busy thoroughfares.
