As the name suggests, North Druid Hills is an area north of the Druid Hills area that includes neighborhoods such as Mason Mill, Victoria Estates, Merry Hills, and Briarcliff Heights. The topography in this area includes rolling hills and a very forestry feel and gives you a sense of living in the suburbs, yet getting to the center of the city is only about a 15 minute drive. There is an abundance of 1960 ranches but also mixed in are some newer construction traditional homes. On average, homes are in the $500-$800K price range for a ranch but expect to pay more if it is a larger, newer built home (anywhere from $900K-$1.4MM). These neighborhoods are a close location to Emory and while there are not any restaurants or coffee shops to walk to in the neighborhood, these all are a short drive (or walk for those that don't mind walking a mile or two) to the popular Toco Hills shopping center, including a Publix, Kroger, and over a dozen casual restaurants.
