East Lake

Curious to know what it's like living in East Lake? East Lake has a mixture of bungalow and craftsman styles along with new construction and a sprinkle of modern homes as well. Perhaps the most notable area in East Lake is the beautiful East Lake golf course, home of the PGA Tour! Just across the street from the East Lake Golf course is the large East Lake Park, complete with baseball fields, tennis courts, and playground equipment. In more recent years, East Lake has gained some local restaurants off of 2nd and Hosea Street. Now residents don't have to travel far to grab a cup of coffee, bbq, or evening drinks. However, downtown Decatur is a short 5 minute drive to a ton more dining options. The Drew Charter school is a top-notch ranked charter school, ranking #1 in Atlanta Public Schools for grades K-5 and #4 for grades 6-8.  Residents of East Lake have the first opportunity to enroll children at Drew Charter but it is a lottery system so there is no guarantee that your child will automatically get in. East Lake real estate has a good mixture of homes and price ranges and we are now starting to see homes reach just over the $1MM mark, which was unheard of 2-3 years ago.
