Living in East Atlanta

An Atlanta neighborhood just south of I-20 and a short drive east of downtown is the neighborhood of East Atlanta. East Atlanta real estate is gaining attraction to many homebuyers because of the ability to purchase a newer home (built in the late 2000’s) at a slightly more affordable Intown Atlanta price point. There is a good mix of renovated bungalows, craftsman, new construction homes, and more newer townhomes popping up in the area. The big attraction to East Atlanta is East Atlanta Village (called EAV for short) which boasts an eclectic collection of pubs, shops, and restaurants that is worth checking out. You can find EAV along the intersection of Flat Shoals Ave SE and Glenwood Ave SE. Like all of Atlanta, the community of East Atlanta has their own set of festivals including the East Atlanta Beer Festival in May and the arts & crafts/parade/5K known as the East Atlanta Strut in September. This area attracts an artsy crowd, young professionals, and also tons of families. East Atlanta offers some walkability for those that live near EAV - the closer you live to EAV, the more walkable it is and the pricier the homes will be.
