I LOVE Spring time in Atlanta. There isn’t much I don’t love, well, except for the pollen that continually makes my car dirty and perhaps the carpenter bees always swarming around my back deck. Otherwise, Spring is phenomenal here in Atlanta with all the pretty trees and flowers blooming and the oh-so-perfect patio lounging weather. It’s just gorgeous!
If you are looking for something to do this upcoming month of April, check out some of my top picks for Atlanta Spring Festivals this April.
4/2: The Beltline Boil
This is a fun time to relax out in the sun, drink some beer, and sample several restaurant’s best version of their low country boil. I went last year and had a great time sampling the food. However, my only negative of this event was that it was a bit overcrowded and for those that go mainly to drink beer, the lines were super, super long. Surprisingly, the lines to get food went pretty quickly. I’d give it another try and see if things have improved.

4/2 – 4/3: Festival on Ponce
If you enjoy browsing at local artists and tasting some food trucks, this is a nice leisurely stroll through Olmsted Linear Park. It’s probably not the biggest arts fair I’ve ever been to, but nice to see if you are in the area.

4/2 – 4/3: Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival
I’ll admit that I haven’t made it out to this festival yet, but it looks promising. It starts off with a 5K run/1K walk on Saturday at 7:30. From Arts and Crafts to a Children’s play zone to lots of musical acts, it appears that there should be something for everyone at this event.
- Times: Sat: 10AM-6PM, Sun 11AM-6PM
- Location: Blackburn Park
- Admission: FREE! — View more info here
4/8 – 4/10: Dogwood Festival
This is one of the bigger arts festivals Atlanta has intown so expect huge crowds. It’s a lovely stroll through Piedmont Park as you encounter booths upon booths of artists selling everything from photography, paintings, jewelry, pottery, and more. I like browsing at the art but I think what draws me in more are all the festival food stands. 🙂 I just can’t get enough of that smell of funnel cakes.
- Times: Fri: 12PM-11PM, Sat: 10AM-11PM, Sun: 10AM-6PM
- Location: Piedmont Park
- Admission: FREE! — View more info here
4/30 – 5/1: Inman Park Festival
Probably one of my most favorite Atlanta Spring Festivals is the Inman Park Festival. There is a large assortment of vendors and this is probably the one festival that I am most likely to actually buy something at. I never miss the “Our Daily Bread” stand which has amazing smells of freshly baked bread, sweet breads, and donuts. Yummm. There is a parade at 2PM on Saturday (good people watching) and of course lots of festival food and music to enjoy. Plus you can buy tickets to do the tour of homes which is always fun to get a peek inside some of the historical bungalow and victorian style homes throughout the Inman Park neighborhood.
- Times: 11AM-6PM both Saturday & Sunday
- Location: All around Inman Park
- Admission: FREE! — View more info here
Have a happy time enjoying Atlanta Spring Festivals this April 2016!!
