With cooler temperatures starting to phase in the Atlanta air, football season in full swing, and the season officially changing to Fall this month of September, it is no surprise that Atlanta has TONS of events every weekend of September. There is so much to choose from whether you are looking for music, food, beer, art, fitness, or just plain fun outside. While there is so much going on in Atlanta in September, I’ve narrowed my list to my top 6 choices of Best Atlanta Events in September:

Dragon Con:
Date: August 30-Sept 3 2018
Location: Downtown
For fans of science fiction, fantasy tv & literature, comics, & gaming this event is one to not miss! Dress up as your favorite character and join the 80,000 others who frequent the 5-day event. Even if you aren’t into dressing up, be sure to head downtown along Peachtree St to watch the Dragon Con parade which starts at 10AM on Saturday. Big Peach Sizzler 10K:
Date: Sept 3, 2018
Location: Start at Chamblee MARTA Station/Finish at Buckhead Station Shopping Center
I have to thrown in one running event because running distance is one thing I really enjoy. If you are looking for a race to kick off your Labor Day in Atlanta, the Big Peach Sizzler 10K is the race to do! (And BONUS: New this year is a 5K option, in case you aren’t feeling the 10K distance). This point-to-point course is one of the faster race routes Atlanta offers as it primarily runs along Peachtree St, starting in Brookhaven and finishing in the heart of Buckhead. This event has roughly 1,500 participants and it includes a great post-race party including those tasty biscuits served from The Flying Biscuit. Beltline Wine Stroll:
Date: Sept 15, 2018
Location: Beltline Eastside Trail
This newer event to pop up in Atlanta has quickly become a very popular one! The Beltline Wine Stroll is back for their 6th year. Sample wines provided by several local restaurant venues along a 1-mile stretch of the Eastside Beltline trail. But be warned, tickets sell out fast (tickets went on sale August 11th this year) and if you are reading this in September, tickets are definitely sold out by now. But, keep an eye on the Beltline Wine Stroll’s Facebook event page as people who can’t attend will post here to sell their ticket. Music Midtown:

Perhaps one of the most anticipated music events in Atlanta each year is Music Midtown. Each year seems to get better and better with major artists visiting the 4 stages. This year features Imagine Dragon, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, and Fallout Boy. This 2-day event starts just after noon and ends by 11PM each evening. Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade:

Location: Beltline Eastside Trail
Another fun Beltline event is the Beltline Lantern Parade. This even just keeps getting bigger and BIGGER each year! Get creative and make your own lantern and show it off as you walk along part of the Beltline with thousands of other Atlantans. It’s completely free to walk in the parade and it’s open to all ages. If you would rather just watch, grab a spot along the Beltline to see all the fun lighted colors march past you. Atlanta Greek Festival:
Date: Sept 28-30, 2018
Location: Greek Orthodox Cathedral
For all things Greek, you have to swing by Atlanta’s Greek Festival located in the North Druid Hills area. There will be plenty of food to try from gyros, lamb sandwiches, and souvlaki plates (they even have a drive-through if you can’t stay for the full events but are craving some traditional Greek dishes). Other things to do at the Atlanta Greek Festival include watching Greek dance shows, shopping the Greek artist marketplace, viewing the Greek cooking demonstration, and listening to the Night in Athens Trio Band.
